September 12, 1988 — Northern Lehigh’s Tim Markell sets a new school record to help the Bulldogs sweep a cross country tri-meet with Northampton and Catasauqua. Markell finishes Nolehi’s 3.1-mile course in a time of 17:11. The winners, coached by Dave Oertner, also receive a second-place finish from Brian Gnas. Ivan Rosario takes sixth place, with Brad Horn finishing seventh for the Bulldogs, who top the Kids by a 21-28 score and down the Roughies by an 18-45 margin. The NL girls, who split, receive a team-best sixth place from Sabrina Nierer.
