Fire companies from several communities battled a dwelling fire this morning in Beaver Meadows.

Shortly after 10 a.m. heavy black smoke was reported billowing from the roof at 16 Tamaqua Street.

Firefighters took about an hour to bring the fire under control.

The dwelling is reported to be vacant.
