A Lehigh County woman was struck and killed by a car while jogging Wednesday.

State police at Bethlehem identified the victim as Angela Pope, 47, of 5570 Stephanie Drive, in North Whitehall Township.Pope was struck about 11:45 a.m. as she was jogging in the 5800 block of SR873 in Washington Township, along the northbound shoulder. The accident site is just south of Slatington.The vehicle that struck Pope was operated by Donald Vito, 54, of Lehighton. Vito was southbound but his vehicle crossed the northbound lane and ran into Pope, troopers said.Pope was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner David Krause at 12:27 p.m. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death was scheduled for this morning.The investigation into the crash is continuing. Assisting troopers is the coroner's office and the Lehigh County district attorney's office.
