Driver facing DUI after crash

A Monroe County driver is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) charge following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:55 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, along SR115, in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said Seth J. Hoagland, 30, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche northbound and attempting to negotiate a left hand curve at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the vehicle and traveled onto the east shoulder where it impacted with the guide rail.Troopers said the vehicle came to final rest off the east shoulder and down an embankment facing southeast in contact with a tree.Hoagland was not injured but damages were termed major to the front end. The incident report indicates a DUI charge is pending and that he was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
