A Tamaqua man, who decided to "assist" police with a traffic stop on March 16, found himself on the receiving end of two citations.
Police were conducting a vehicle stop and vehicle search at 3:40 a.m. in the area of the Tamaqua Diner on Center Street, when Keith Sterling McFarland, 34, of 212 N. Greenwood St., decided to offer suggestions to Patrolman Thomas Rodgers and the driver of the stopped vehicle.Despite repeated warnings from Rodgers, McFarland continued to yell suggestions, causing a disturbance. He was then given a ride to the police station, where he was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
