Tamaqua driver in crash

A Tamaqua driver was involved in a crash that occurerd about 3:35 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, along SR61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Karen L. Brode, 36, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze northbound when she drove onto the berm impacting with the guard rail.The car continued along the rail for about 20 feet before she steered back onto the road. Brode over-corrected to the left and struck the concrete barrier and continued forward for about five feet making contact with the barrier.Brode over-corrected again, troopers said, and drove into the guide rail along the east berm where the car came to rest.Brode sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. The car had to be towed from the scene.Troopers said cited Brode for driving on roadways laned for traffic.Troopers also investigated a crash about 4:25 p.m. on Sunday along SR125, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Daniel W. Noll, 28, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2004 Yamaha Star motorcycle northbound while William H. Levan, 65, of Pine Grove, driving a 2010 GMC Sierra, was southbound.Troopers said Levan turned left in the path of Noll. The bike struck the truck. Upon impact Noll was thrown from the bike.He was taken by ambulance to the SMC-S. Levan was not injured. Troopers said Levan was cited for causing the crash.
