Two pretty young ladies from the area - Carolyn Matteo of Hazleton, who is the reigning Miss Panther Valley, and Debra Schleicher of Slatington, the current Miss Lehigh VAlley, are in Altoona this week to compete for the title of Miss Pennsylvania. If either is successful, she will compete in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City in September. Miss Matteo is the official representative for Carbon, Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties. Miss Schleicher represents Lehigh and Northampton Counties.
