State police at Lehighton reported investigating a crash on June 27 at 8:34 a.m. on SR248, i Palmerton.

Troopers said Cassidy Akers, 22, of Lehighton, was traveling eastbound in the left lane at an apparent high rate of speed and was passing a vehicle in the right lane when she lost control of her 2004 Jeep Grank Cheroke. The Jeep struck the concrete center divider with the left front, overturned and came to a final rest against a guiderail.Cassidy was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Palmerton ambulance treatment of injuries. t
