November 23, 1976 — Northwestern’s George Southworth registers a double-double and the Tigers jump out to an early lead en route to a 64-44 victory over Hamburg. Southworth ties for game-high scoring honors with 17 points and also pulls down 11 rebounds. The winners, coached by Frank Yusella, race to a 22-2 advantage thanks to seven points from Jimmy Hoffman. Hoffman finishes with 17 points, while Kevin German contributes 14. Northwestern also receives 10 points from Scott Stoudt.
