State police at Schuylkill Haven reported the arrest of a Schuylkill County resident on assault by vehicle and other counts.

Troopers said the incident occurred about 12:06 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at 30 W. Main St. (SR209), in Tremont. According to troopers Robert Joseph Ditzler, 40, was standing on the sidewalk in front of his residence when Daniel Troy Langtry, 24, of Tremont, drove past northbound in a 1995 Volkswagen Golf at a high rate of speed. He then "hard braked," and put the car in reverse and traveled southbound and onto the sidewalk striking Ditzler. Langtry then fled the scene on foot.Ditzler was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville, where he was treated and later released.Langtry was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, simple assault, and numerous summary traffic violations.
