A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Luzerne County.

State police at Hazleton said Eric T. Valentine, 26, of MaryD, Schuylkill Township, was driving a 2003 Saturn Ion southbound on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township, when he traveled onto the right shoulder and down an embankment where the car struck several trees.The car continued south and made a second impact with a drainage ditch causing the Saturn to flip over onto its roof. The impact tore the passenger-side front tire from the vehicle. The car came to rest on its roof facing south.Valentine was able to get out of the vehicle through the driver's side door. He sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
