A motorcyclist was serious injured in a crash that occurred about 5:26 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, along Pine Street, East Union Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Matthew R. Maslo, 22, of Hazle Township, Luzerne County, was driving a 1992 Suzuki RM125 eastbound when he lost control. The bike left the road and struck a legally parked 1989 Buick Century.Maslo, who was not wearing a helmet, received major head and face injuries and was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.Troopers said Maslo was charged with careless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, and other traffic violations.
