Lisa M. Cope, 52, of 12 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, is facing numerous additional charges after being picked up by Tamaqua police on Tuesday on several warrants.
Cope has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a domestic dispute on July 31. Officers were called at 2:56 p.m. after a neighbor heard loud noises coming from Cope's apartment. The noises sounded like someone was being thrown against a wall.Cope told police she was the only one in the apartment. In plain view were five syringes, a metal spoon, two cut plastic straws and a wax baggie with a car stamp.While officers were involved in a drug sweep on Aug. 7, they received a call about a disturbance at Cope's apartment at 7:23 a.m. They spoke with the apartment building manager, then went to the apartment and spoke to two women who were inside. One said Cope had fled with two bags of drugs. Both women said Cope had assaulted them. One of the victims said she wanted to press charges.In that case, Cope was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.Police continued with their drug sweep.At 9:32 a.m., they received a call that Cope had gone back to her apartment. They found Cope and Eric Kuklinski inside the apartment, despite Cope saying she was alone.Cope was holding a black zippered case in her hand when officers arrived. It contained three syringes, a metal spoon and cotton swabs. A scale was in plain sight on a kitchen counter.She was charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal and possession of drug paraphernalia.Kuklinski, who initially gave police his brother's name, had a black zippered wallet containing a Schuylkill County Prison ID card and a clear, empty baggie.He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to police. Carbon County authorities had a warrant for Kuklinski's arrest, so he was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning.
