TYM REMIX, a revamping of Tamaqua Youth Ministries, will hold its first meeting at 6:30

p.m.today at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Broad St.The group is open to everyone in first through 12th grades.TYM REMIX is a committed group of individuals who gather weekly to encourage, nurture, show unconditional acceptance to young people and provide biblical guidance for the day-to-day difficulties of life. Weekly gatherings include conversation, refreshments, connection, activities and learning.For more information, call 570 668-5854.Crime WatchSeveral Tamaqua residents are hoping to revive Tamaqua's dormant Crime Watch organization and have scheduled a public meeting with Schuylkill County District Attorney Christine Holman.The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St.The group is being re-formed in an effort to help fight the growing drug abuse problem as well as reduce crime and provide an overall better quality of life for residents. Smith hopes to hold regularly scheduled meetings and has created a Facebook page - Tamaqua Area "Crime Watch" - to help gather support and members.Anyone interested is welcome to attend the Sept. 6 meeting.Contact Kathy Kunkel at 570-668-1250 or
