Representatives from the Republic of China visited coal-mining procedures at Beth Mines, Panther Valley Division, as guests of the Bethlehem Mines Corporation, sponsored through Columbia University. Stefan H. Boshkoy, professor on mining and chairman of the School of Mines at Columbia, also took the tour. The purpose of the meeting and tour of the local facilities "is an exchange of ideas for the mining of coal." China hopes it will develop a curriculum for the training of future mining engineers at its universities.
