Carbon County court - ARD
Seven first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program last Friday by Judge Joseph J. Matika. If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
All were placed for a year.Robert Charles Dginta, 51, of Maple Glen, Montgomery County, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on May 20 by state police at Fern Ridge along South Lake Drive in Kidder Township. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.He was assessed $500 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.Deborah Racquel James, 40, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of hindering apprehension. She was arrested by Kidder Township police on April 29 in the parking lot of Valerio's Restaurant along Route 903 during a traffic stop and involving Jesse Lee James. She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hour of community service.Brittany Kieffer, 21, of Coaldale, was placed on a retail theft charge. She was arrested by Mahoning Township police on June 18 at the Walmart store.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and to stay out of the store.Gjon Ljuljdjuraj, 37, of Washington, Michigan, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on June 5, 2016, along Route 534 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance. He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Whittney Cheyanne Lockwitch, 25, of Nesquehoning, was placed on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. She was arrested on May 16 by Nesquehoning police for an incident at the CVS store parking lot where she allegedly left two children, ages 6 and 2, in her vehicle unattended. She was assessed $450 and ordered to attend and successfully complete parenting classes.Jayshika A. Patel, 39, of Piscataway, New Jersey, was placed on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested by Kidder Township police on April 15 at the water park at Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony. She allegedly assaulted another patron at the park. She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution of $1,750 to the victim.John J. White, 37, of Pocono Summit, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 1 along Main Street by Weatherly police after being stopped for speeding. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and those charged with DUI follow any recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
