State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents, but did not release names of suspects:
• A 33-year-old Lehighton woman is facing charges of driving under the alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:06 a.m. March 7.
She was stopped in a 2008 Honda Accord for violations on Title 75 on Bankway Street, Lehighton.
• A 24-year-old Palmerton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop on March 9.
He was stopped in a 2011 Subaru Impreza for multiple Title 75 offenses on Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton.
• A 39-year-old Kunkletown man was targeted in theft by deception/identity theft incidents.
He arrived at the barracks in Towamensing Township at 9 a.m. March 12 to report that someone opened two credit card accounts in his name.
• A 47-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:06 p.m. March 22.
He was stopped in a 2015 Dodge Dart for violations of Title 75 on Route 248 in Franklin Township.
• A 29-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop on March 22.
He was stopped in a 2011 GMC Sierra for violations of Title 75.
• Police stopped a vehicle on March 23 for multiple Title 75 offenses and suspected the driver was operating it while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
During the stop, they found the driver to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
• Police were summoned to a terroristic threats/road rage incident at 5:51 p.m. March 23 on the 6500 block of Interchange Road, Polk Township.
They said the victim is a Saylorsburg resident.
Involved in the incident were a 2009 Volkswagen Passat and a 2020 Ford Edge.
• A 41-year-old Northampton woman is facing drug possession charges after police were called to South Kittatinny Road, East Penn Township, on March 24.
They were called to a report of two individuals walking on the roadway and upon arrival police said they found the woman to be in possession of drugs and related paraphernalia.
• A 33-year-old man from Glen Aubrey, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 7:54 p.m. March 28.
He was stopped in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado for violations of Title 75 on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.
• A 32-year-old Hazleton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:37 a.m. March 29.
He was stopped in a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta for Title 75 offenses on Lehigh Drive, Bowmanstown, after which police found him to be in possession of drugs and related paraphernalia.
• A 67-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 8:36 p.m. March 31.
He was stopped in a 2015 Dodge Ram truck for violations of Title 75 on Smith Alley, Polk Township.
• A 66-year-old Lehighton woman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after police were called to a domestic incident at 1:51 a.m. April 3 on West Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.
Police said a 58-year-old man from Lehighton told them the woman “rammed” her vehicle into a garage door where he was standing. Police said the man had minor injuries as a result of the incident.
• Police were called to a suspicious person report at 8:01 a.m. April 7 on the 1000 block of Interchange Road, Polk Township.
They said a canvass of the area was met with negative results.
• A 21-year-old man from Cumby, Texas, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 2:31 a.m. April 16.
He was stopped in a 2019 Dodge Ram truck for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.
• Darshankumar Patel, 31, of Bloomsburg, was cited for harassment by communications after police were called to a property on Ash Lane, Polk Township, at 2:35 p.m. April 16.
The victim is a 17-year-old girl from Kunkletown.
• Jeremiah Thomas, 47, of Saylorsburg, was charged with theft after police were called to Maple Spring Drive, Polk Township, at 7:27 p.m. April 16.
Stolen were $400 worth of gutters from JNJ Seamless Gutter, Kunkletown, police said.
