Hazleton Police and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office said Monday the burned body found on Monday was a Schuylkill County woman.

At 7:01 a.m. Sunday, the Hazleton City Fire Department responded to a report of a possible mannequin on fire in the area of Club 40 Road and East Broad Street.

Firefighters realized it was not a mannequin and requested the Hazleton City Police Department.

An active investigation is ongoing, with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police, Wilkes-Barre Police, and the Attorney General’s Office.

A search warrant was executed at a home on Muir Avenue Sunday in connection to the case.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at the Luzerne County Morgue.
