It’s a three-peat for Tamaqua.
Last evening at the 2007 Pennsylvania Citizen Bee, high school senior Matt Zuber made his school, family and town proud when he took first place. It was the third year in a row a student from Tamaqua won the annual competition, sponsored by the Times News and Lehigh Carbon Community College.
Zuber succeeds Cassie Kane and Tyler Schmidt, who won the competition in 2006 and 2005, respectively.
The new champion is a son of Stephen and Wanda Zuber. He plans to attend Ursinus College to major in neuroscience.
The runner-up in the competition was Bob Caccese, a junior at Weatherly Area High School.
