April 25, 2016 — Mason Evitts delivers a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning and Dante Salerno pitches a scoreless frame in the bottom half to lift Marian to a 4-2 Schuylkill League Division 3 victory over rival Panther Valley. Both starting pitchers turn in solid efforts as the Colts’ Teague Schmidt allows just two runs and strikes out five in six innings, while PV’s Anthony Micholik tosses seven frames and gives up just two hits and a pair of unearned runs. Micholik also triples in the seventh and scores on Michael Hutt’s grounder to force extra innings and set the stage for Evitts’ heroics.
