A Summit Hill woman will have her artwork showcased at the state Capitol as part of the first Older Artists of PA Showcase next month.
Cynthia Yurick Kashlak was recently notified that a piece of artwork she submitted was selected. The piece, a photo titled “Time to Eat,” is a closeup of baby birds in a nest.
“With over 500 submissions statewide, the Showcase Planning Committee is humbled and grateful for such an outpouring of participation, and we are so honored to welcome you and celebrate your work,” the acceptance letter stated.
Kashlak’s work will now hang in the East Wing Rotunda during the month of May.
The art exhibit is held by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Over 500 entries were submitted for the showcase.
