John E. Bryant, the current chairman of the Administrative Council of the United Methodist Church, Summit Hill, was honored today by the congregation for his 70 years of continuous membership in the church.

He was recognized during the morning worship service presided over by the Rev. Carol Segich, pastor.

Bryant, who was presented for the honor by church treasurer Jill Zwiesdak, has been a fixture at the church. He is a member of the senior choir and male chorus, a lay reader, a member of the trustees, and also serves on the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee.

He assists in the preparation of the church and charge budgets, represents the church in ecumenical functions and is one of the UMC’s representatives for the Summit Hill Food Bank.
