April 23, 1976 — Vince Keip wins two events, including one that breaks a school record, as the Tamaqua boys track team remains undefeated with an 81-69 Schuylkill League victory over North Schuylkill. The win keeps the Blue Raiders tied for first in the league. Keip captures the 100 and 440, with his time of 53.6 in the 440 topping the all-time Tamaqua mark of 53.9, shared by Joe Gasper (1950) and Jerry Zubey (1971). Randy Fullmer also picks up a pair of wins, taking the triple jump (39-5) and high jump (5-9). Other Raider firsts come from Robbie Gerber (220), Karl Rudloff (two mile), Matt Hope (300 hurdles), Bob Holmberg (discus) and Mark Reese (long jump).
