State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• John G. Brunnquell, 26, of Effort, was cited after a crash at 1:55 p.m. April 8 at the intersection of Meixsell Valley and Mountain Woods roads in Ross Township.

Police said he was driving a 2011 Honda Accord southbound at a high rate of speed on Mountain Woods Road when he merged onto Meixsell Valley Road while failing to yield to traffic and the Accord struck a 2019 Honda Civic operated by Gravier Lugo Jr., 36, of Kunkletown.

Police said Brunnquell continued east on Meixsell Valley Road, but said Lugo turned around and followed him. They said when Lugo had Brunnquell stopped and told him he had struck the Civic, Brunnquell fled.

Police said Brunnquell is also facing multiple violations of Title 75.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:50 p.m. March 25 at the intersection of Meixsell Valley and Rolling Hills roads in Ross Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Beverly R. Mosteller, 75, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2016 Honda CRV northwest on Rolling Hills Road and proceeded from a stop at the intersection without having proper clearance.

They said the Honda hit a 1999 Ford Ranger driven by Robert McPeek, 74, of Saylorsburg.

Police said the Ranger was towed while the Honda was driven from the scene.
