Overnight furniture moving leads to Tamaqua citation

Tamaqua police said they cited an intoxicated man who was moving furniture out of a home at 4:41 a.m. April 8.

According to police, officers were called to the unit block of Center Street for a report of a drunken man moving large furniture. When they arrived, they saw a number of items on the sidewalk and spoke to Pedro Grullon Lora, 45.

Police said Grullon Lora had slurred speech and showed other signs of intoxication.

Grullon Lora was told that it was after 4 a.m. and not a reasonable time to be moving, so he was ordered to stop or he would be cited. He said that he understood and he was done, according to police.

But about 10 minutes later, police were called back to the house for the same reason.

Grullon Lora was taken into custody and lodged in the department’s holding cell until he became sober.
