April 21, 1998 — A big game from Casey Hydro helps Jim Thorpe gain a 12-7 Schuylkill League victory over visiting Weatherly. Hydro earns the pitching win, allowing just one run in four innings while striking out five and not surrendering any walks. At the plate, he finishes with four hits while scoring three times and collecting three RBIs. The Olympians, coached by John Searfoss, gain an early first-inning lead on Hydro’s RBI triple and a run-scoring single by Kevin Doll. A six-run fourth frame extends the lead for Thorpe. Hydro, Doll and Geoff Kelowitz all collect RBI hits in the inning, while Jared Kelowitz slugs a two-run homer. For the Wreckers, Albert Donadi drills a pair of homers, one a grand slam.
