Tamaqua Area School Board

Tamaqua Area School Board took the following action on Tuesday:

• An Act 80 for April 21, Easter Monday, for teachers to assist with career development and training.

• A Christmas party for the Raider Band, Dec. 13, at Capriotti’s in Banks Township.

• A senior citizen (age 62 and older) discounted ticket price to enter athletic events at $2, which is the same as a student ticket.

• The 2025-26 Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 Student Driver Education Program agreement.

• The tax report, tax exemptions, tax refunds and payment of bills for April: $1,266,721.45, and interim, $680,917.76.

• A three-year contract with DM Reagent Solutions and Sun Life, effective July 1, 2025, as follows: $0.112, life; $0.02, accidental death and dismemberment; $0.224, long-term disability.

• The CSIU Eservices agreement for 2025-26 for the business office software. The cost is driven by the enrollment, and Connie Ligenza, business manager, didn’t anticipate a change in cost.

• The PenTeleData contract ratification effective July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030, at a cost of $10,138.59 per month. This is the pre-E-Rate cost; 90% will be funded via the E-Rate program.

• The Dauphin Data Com contract ratification for the purchase amount of $315,314 for connectors, switches and wireless access points, including set up and installation. This is a pre-E-Rate cost; 85% will be funded with the E-Rate discount.

• The 2025 SHINE Sponsor Agreement and pricing: $2.50, breakfast, and $4.25, lunch.

• Purchase of tax envelopes for 2025 at a cost of $19,000, including postage for the 2025 tax bills from the U.S. Postal Service at a cost of $16,113.90.
