Turnpike incidents
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following incidents that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• Gabriel Middleton, 33, of Lansford, is facing charges of tampering with public records after police made a traffic stop at 8:30 a.m. April 15.
Police said he was stopped in a 2015 Nissan Altima for a registration violation at mile marker 64.9 in North Whitehall Township, after which it was determined he was required to possess an ignition interlock device for any vehicle he was operating. They said the Altima was not equipped with the device; the registration plate did not belong to the vehicle; the vehicle was not registered; and the inspection stickers on it were tampered with.
Police said Middleton was also cited for misuse of a registration plate.
They said victims in the incident are Laurel Imports, Johnstown, and K&J Automotive Repair, Hanover.
• Amin Pearsall, 34, of Upper Darby, was cited for theft of services after police made a traffic stop at 1:10 p.m. April 13.
He was stopped in a 2015 Chrysler for an expired registration at mile marker 68.2 in Washington Township, after which it was determined he was in possession of a fraudulent Delaware temporary registration plate and the vehicle displayed fictitious inspection stickers.
Police said that he was also found to be driving while his license is suspended.
They said victims in the incident are PJ’s Auto, West Middlesex, and Varsity Auto Repair, Chester.
• Jeremy Veney, 25, of Philadelphia, is facing a number of charges after police made a traffic stop at 8:33 p.m. April 12.
He was stopped in a 2014 Ford Fusion after police clocked him traveling 101 mph in a 70 mph zone at mile marker 68.4 in Washington Township, after which police found him to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and determined his driver’s license is suspended. They also said the vehicle had a fictitious temporary tag and inspection stickers on it.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, maximum speed limits, theft and operating a vehicle while his license is suspended.
Police said victims in the incident are PJ’s Auto, West Middlesex, and Rising Brothers, Indiana.
• Maureen McCloskey of Philadelphia, is facing Title 75 charges after police made a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m. April 12.
She was stopped in a 2013 Dodge Durango for an expired registration at mile marker 68.6 in Washington Township, after which police determined the vehicle displayed fictitious annual and emission inspection stickers.
Police said victims in the incident are Reedman Toll, Langhorne, and Ted’s Garage, Reading.
