Lehigh Co. candidates file petitions for primary
Numerous candidates have filed nominating petitions in the Lehigh County Elections Office to have their names appear on either the Republican or Democratic ballots for the Primary Election in May.
On the county level, voters will elect a county executive in at-large voting, which includes the following Times News coverage areas: Slatington Borough and the townships of Lynn, Heidelberg, Washington, Lowhill and Weisenberg. The candidates this year are Joshua Segel, Democrat, and Roger MacLean and Mike Welsh, both Republicans.
Voters in District 1 of Lehigh, which includes Slatington Borough and the townships of Lynn, Heidelberg, Washington, Lowhill, Weisenberg, Whitehall and North Whitehall, are also slated to elect a commissioner to represent the district. The lone candidate to file for the position is Republican Antonio Pineda.
Meanwhile, the other officers that voters will see in their respective municipalities and the candidates filed to aspire to them are as follows:
• Slatington mayor — Jeralyn Walters Schoch, Republican.
• Slatington borough council (four-year term) — Aaron Schoch and William M. Schippers, Republicans.
• Satington borough council — (two-year term) — Aaron Schoch and William M. Schippers, Republicans.
• Heidelberg Township supervisor — Jonathan Jakum, Republican.
• Lowhill Township supervisor — John J. Iannantuono, Republican.
• Lynn Township supervisor — Ronald Jerdon and Jason Moyer, Republicans.
• Washington Township supervisor — Josh B. Friebolin, Republican.
• Weisenberg Township supervisor — Richard A. Bleiler, Republican.
• Heidelberg Township tax collector — Christopher Dum, Republican.
• Lowhill Township tax collector — Joann E. Schaffer, Republican.
• Lynn Township tax collector — Mary Ann Metzger, Republican.
• Washington Township tax collector — Gale N. Husack and Ashley Wilk, Republicans.
• Weisenberg Township tax collector — Jeffrey M. Strauss, Republican.
• Heidelberg Township auditor (six-year term) — William R. Hoffert, Republican.
• Weisenberg Township auditor — George J. Gerbino, Republican.
• Northern Lehigh School Board — Gary Fedorcha, Angela Williams, Democrats; and Angela Williams, Gery Fedorcha and Timothy D. Weaber, Republicans.
• Northwestern Lehigh School Board — Jennifer Senavaitis, Todd Hernandez Rebecca Hite and Lauren Hunsicker, Democrats; and Rebecca Hite, Todd Hernandez, Lauren Hunsicker and Jennifer Senavaitis, Republicans.
• Heidelberg Township judge of elections — Jane Wessner, Republican.
• Lynn Township (L) judge of elections — Judith A. Ritter, Republican.

• Washington Township judge of elections (S) — Lauren Ganser, Republican.
