Melvin R. Storm Sr., a lifelong resident of Franklin Township, was named Citizen of the Year when the Franklin Township Lions Club held its fourth anniversary charter dinner on Saturday night.
More than 200 persons attended the event at the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company hall, and gave Storm a standing ovation when he was introduced as this year’s honoree by Lion James Ziegenfuss.
The 72-year-old Storm, an Army veteran of World War II, was presented an honorary lifetime membership in the Lions Club for his community service that started way back in 1941. The township supervisors presented an inscribed clock to Storm.
