Voters in Northampton County will have the opportunity to vote for Democratic or Republican candidates seeking their parties’ nominations for a number of positions in the May 20 Primary Election.

A seat on the Court of Common Pleas is up for grabs this year, as is the county executive position and seats on the county council.

At the municipality level positions include the Northampton and Northern Lehigh school boards, as well as positions in Walnutport Borough and Lehigh Township.

Candidates who have filed petitions to get their names on the respective ballots:

County level

Judge of the Common Pleas Court: 10-year term, elect 1 - Jeremy Clark, Democrat and Republican; James Fuller, Republican; and Robert Eyer, Democrat and Republican.

County Executive: four-year term, elect 1 - Amy Cozze, Democrat, Tara Zrinski, Democrat, and Tom Giovanni, Republican.

County Council: four-year terms, elect five - Theresa Fadem, David Holland, Nadeem Qayyum, Lori Vargo Heffner and Jason Boulette, all Democrats, and John P. Goffredo, Juan E. Martinez, Sam Elias, Daniel Campo and John Brown, all Republicans.

Northampton School District

Northampton Area School District, Region I: four-year term, elect 1 - Zachary Kromer and Douglas Vaughn are seeking both the Democratic and Republican nominations.

Northampton Area School District, Region II: four-year terms, elect 2 - Frances Shehab, Ross Makary and Nathan J. Lichtenwalner are seeking both the Democratic and Republican nominations.

Northampton Area School District, Region III: four-year term, elect 1 - David L. Gogel, Parker Flamisch and Jamie Shankweiler Marchiano are seeking both the Democratic and Republican nominations.

Northern Lehigh

Northern Lehigh Area School District: four-year terms, elect 4 - Gary Fedorcha and Angela Williams are seeking both the Democratic and Republican nominations, and Timothy D. Weaber is a Republican candidate.

Lehigh Township

Lehigh Township Supervisor: six-year term, elect 1 - James T. Barnes, Democrat, and Janet Sheats and Lewis Gogel, Republicans

Tax collector: four-year term, elect 1 - Suzanne Hawke, Republican.

Elections: Inspector of elections, Danielsville District, four-year term, elect 1 - Cindy Rifenburg, Democrat, and Randy Mertz, Republican; judge of elections, Northwestern District, four-year term, elect 1 - Cathy Riley, Republican; judge of elections, Pennsville District, four-year term, elect 1 - Jeannine Gerrity, Republican; inspector of elections, Pennsville District, four-year term, elect 1 - Deborah Heckenberger, Republican; and judge of elections, Treichlers District, four-year term, elect 1 - Patricia Amey, Democrat.

Walnutport

Mayor: four-year term, elect 1 - Wayne Weidner, Democrat

Council: four-year terms, elect 4 - Jennifer Wentz, Democrat; and Patrice Hunsicker, Nancy Treskot and David Wentling, Republicans

Tax collector: four-year term, elect 1 - Kristie Wentling, Republican.
