The Walnutport Canal Cleanup went smoothly on Saturday, thanks in part to weather clearing for the 9 a.m. start. Doneta Merkle said volunteers were able to clear trash and debris from the trees. Vice President Brenda Morris expressed appreciation for the group’s volunteers. The main goal was to clean around the pavilion because there is a rental at the end of April.
