A familiar face returns to Tribe Pride

Lehighton barbershop expands hours

A barbershop in Lehighton is now open seven days a week.

As of April 6, Tribe Pride Barbershop, 531 Bridge St., added Sunday and Monday hours.

Owner Audra Doll said an old friend, Alex Androkitis, decided to return to the business after a five-year absence.

Doll said she opened the barbershop in the summer of 2018. She said Androkitis first started with her, and when COVID-19 hit in 2020, Androkitis moved to the Poconos.

“Alex sent me a message; it was such exciting news,” Doll said. “The customers who remember her are beyond excited that she moved back to the area and is back working with me again.”

Doll said Androkitis has hours Sundays and Mondays.

Androkitis said she’s glad to be back.

“I missed the area,” she said. “I hope to see familiar faces soon.”

Also, Doll said that Tamelin Diaz joined Tribe Pride Barbershop in September.

“She’s an awesome co-worker,” Doll said. “I’m beyond grateful to have these two.”

Doll said that being open seven days a week is even more advantageous to her customers.

“I’ve found over the last few years, their work schedules, kids sports, family schedules, agendas have changed,” she said. “I think it will evenly distribute customers, reduce their wait time.”

Doll said she has a faithful client base from throughout the county and beyond.

“I’ve been barbering for 16 years, and since Day One, I have such a passion for what I do, I enjoy every day,” she said. “Everybody is just enjoyable. I get to meet so many people who have become friends; I’ve laughed, cried with customers.”

Doll noted her business continues to attract new customers.

“I’d like to thank my clients and customers over the years,” she said. “My job is to make people look good and feel good and want to come back.”

Doll and Diaz’s hours will be 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 1-6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays.

Androkitis’ hours will be 1-7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays; and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sundays.
