State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Lasha Kheladze, 39, of Brooklyn, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash at 11:26 p.m. March 20 on Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry eastbound when it left its lane, traveled off the road and hit a sign. The car was able to be driven from the scene, police said.

• Two vehicles had minor damage after a crash in the parking lot of the Wawa convenience store off Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township at 1:23 p.m. April 1.

Police said a 1984 Ford F-150 pickup struck a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer head-on as the vehicles were traveling through the lot.

• Donald Conway, 34, of Bethlehem, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a two-vehicle crash at 7:49 p.m. April 3 on Interstate 80 westbound in Kidder Township.

Police said a 27-year-old woman from Elizabeth, New Jersey, was the victim and that a 2015 Toyota and a 2015 Volvo were involved in the crash.

• Jessica A. Daurizio, 36, of Albrightsville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:42 p.m. March 14 on Nosirrah Road, Penn Forest Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. They said the severity of her injuries is unknown.

Police said she was driving a 2024 Ford Explorer eastbound when she exited the vehicle, leaving a passenger to assume driving responsibilities. They said the passenger shifted the vehicle into reverse and removed her foot from the brake pedal, resulting in the vehicle striking a tree. The vehicle had minor to moderate damage, police said.
