April 12, 1967 — Dave Sheckler captures two events to help Palmerton gain a 67-28 Lehigh Valley League track and field victory over Stroudsburg. Sheckler wins the 100-yard dash in a time of 11.1 and also takes the 220 in 24.9. Mike Samok clears 5-7 to win the high jump and accumulates nine team points for the Blue Bombers. Rich Rex throws 48-10 1/2 to take the shot put, while Charlie Arner bests the field in the discus with a toss of 127-0 1/2. Palmerton also receives firsts from Valo in the 440 (56.4) and Goidich in the pole vault (11-0).
