Local Roundup: Results from April 11

Northern Lehigh and Tamaqua both posted wins on Friday.

The Bulldogs no-hit Moravian Academy, while the Blue Raiders crushed Minersville.

Moravian Academy-No. Lehigh

Northern Lehigh used two big innings to beat Moravian Academy 12-0 in a Colonial League game.

The Bulldogs broke a scoreless game with five runs in the third inning and seven more in the fourth, while two pitchers combined to no-hit the Lions over five innings.

Brayden Buskirk went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the winners, while six other Bulldogs had one hit each. Connor Simms, Coy Daubert, Parker Schaffer, Braedon Dougherty and Brody Sterner each scored twice.

Chris Vargas got the win with four hitless innings. He struck out five Lion batters and walked just one. Schaffer pitched one hitless inning and struck out two batters while walking none.

Tamaqua-Minersville

Tamaqua took an early lead and put away Minersville with a five-run fifth inning for an 11-1 non-league mercy rule win.

Logan Morgans went 3-for-4 for the Blue Raiders, scoring once and driving in a run. Luke Kane and Cooper Ansbach both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored each. Maximus Najarro also went 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs. Mason Ligenza went 1-for-2 with a home run. He also walked twice and scored three times for Tamaqua.

Noah Mateyak got the win with 3 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out two Miners and walking one. Jake Yenser (1 1/3 IP, 1 H) and Gavan Hess (1 IP) both struck out two batters and walked one each while holding Minersville scoreless.
