Stewart running for Rush Twp. supervisor

James “Pooh” Stewart announced his candidacy for Rush Township supervisor in the upcoming primary election on May 20. Public service has always been Stewart’s calling having served as a former Rush police officer, former EMT, proud military veteran, and a volunteer firefighter with the Hometown Volunteer Fire Company.

“I have lived in this community my entire life; I care deeply about our township and the people who make it what it is. I’m running because I believe Rush Township deserves leadership that is transparent, responsive and focused on common sense solutions. This community needs a supervisor who listens, works hard and puts people over politics,” Stewart said.

If elected, Stewart plans to keep taxes fair while investing wisely in essential township services, improve communication and transparency between the board and residents, prioritize road repairs and infrastructure upgrades to ensure safety and accessibility, support small local businesses as the backbone of our local economy and preserving the rural character and natural beauty that make our township unique.

“This campaign is not just about me — it’s about all of us. I’m committed to being a strong, reliable voice for every resident and ensuring your concerns are heard and addressed with respect and action,” he said.

“Your vote is the spark that will ignite change — stand up and be heard. Be the difference. Be the change. We can only do this with your vote 5/20/2025,” he added.

While Stewart is running on the Republican ticket, Democrats can also vote by writing in his name. If you have questions, ideas, or would simply like to connect, reach out at jamesmstewart2025@yahoo.com.
