April 10, 2015 — Rayan Green takes first in two events and second in two others to help the Jim Thorpe boys claim the team title at the Seventh Annual Olympian Invitational. Green wins the high jump by clearing 6-2 and tops the field in the triple jump. His runner-up finishes come in the 110 and 300 hurdling events. Thorpe, coached by Frank Miller, also receives a first from its 3200 relay team of Dylan Bucior, Ben Saxon, Jacob Saxon and Jonathan Condly. Other area firsts in the boys competition come from Palmerton’s Jon Anthony (discus) and its 400 relay team, Lehighton’s Tyler Crum (100) and Tom Ruzicka (javelin). Area girls firsts are recorded by Thorpe’s Brooke Cope (javelin) and Tamaqua’s Monika Shimko (800).
