State police at the Frackville barracks said a man who led them on a chase that exceeded speeds over 100 mph on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on March 21 has been identified and is wanted on a warrant for a burglary that happened in 2022.

Police said David Brannigan, 43, of Hanover Township, has been identified as the driver of a blue Subaru Impreza they tried to stop on the interstate southbound in Delano Township. Police said he led them on a chase in which he was weaving in and out of traffic, including passing vehicles on the shoulder of the road. They said he exited the interstate and traveled through Mahanoy City, successfully escaping officers.

Police said they identified Branningan in part by tracking the license plate on the Impreza. They said it is believed he is living in the Shamokin area.

Police said in addition for having eluded police, they learned he is also wanted in connection with a burglary that happened in Luzerne County.
