Basil Goida, a 59-year-old Andreas man, was the winner of $1,000 for life in the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Joker’s Wild Game.
The game winner was determined by the third race at the Penn National Race Track when Goida’s horse, Flying L, won the race. Goida’s nephew, Michael, drew horse No. 4 for his uncle when each of the game’s 10 finalists drew numbers corresponding to the horses in the race.
The finalists were selected from 590,000 players Joker’s Wild rub-off game.
Basil Goida, an assembler for Titan Industries, Leesport, said after winning the prize he planned to give his employer a one-week notice of his retirement.
