The Pleasant Valley School District’s Superintendent James Konrad notified parents Monday that it had taken some precautions at the elementary school.
Konrad told the parents that at 8:16 a.m., he was informed that “a man of concern” was somewhere near Route 209 near the school. The Pennsylvania State Police investigated it and informed the school district security that the man was not a threat and there is no threat to the school.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we had extra police and administrative presence at PVE,” Konrad said. “State police were also on site just to make sure our students and staff were safe. At no point did we go into a lockdown or restrictive movement, but we were extra cautious this morning.”
Reports by people on social media stated that all of the buildings in the school district were on lockdown and that it all began at Turkey Hill.
Konrad went on to say in his message, “We appreciate our state police, school district police, and district security working together to keep everyone safe.”
