Local roundup: Results from April 7
The Panther Valley softball and Northwestern boys lacrosse teams both picked up wins on Monday.
SOFTBALL
Panther Valley-Lourdes
Megan O’Brien blasted a grand slam and Panther Valley rolled to a 14-4 Schuylkill League five-inning win over Lourdes.
O’Brien finished with five RBIs and a run scored for the Panthers, who also saw Brooklynn Mika record three hits - including a triple - drive in three runs and score four times. Caroline Breslin (two RBIs, run scored) and Kyla McQuillen (RBI, two runs scored) both collected two hits, and Morgan O’Brien (two runs scored) and Janessa Prudente (RBI, two runs scored) both tripled.
Gabby Dusendschine had a triple among her two hits and drove in two runs for Lourdes. Karissa Koronkiewicz added a double.

BASEBALL
CMVT-Weatherly
Jaxson Koser of Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech pitched a five-inning no-hitter to lead his team to a 17-2 non-league victory over Weatherly.
Koser walked four and struck out six. He also received plenty of offensive support from Axton Koser, who finished 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs.
The winners also received four hits, four runs and three RBIs from Myles Koser.
Trent Higgins and Michael Davies both scored runs for the Wreckers. Davies had three stolen bases, while Higgins swiped two bags.

BOYS LACROSSE
Saucon Valley-Northwestern
Kendall Wikert scored six goals and Northwestern cruised to a 16-3 win over Saucon Valley.
Tyler Kaas scored four times and added an assist for the Tigers, while Logan Uricchio added a goal and dished out four assists. Braydon Uricchio and Grayson Christman each scored twice and finished with an assist for the winners, who also got an assist from Wikert. Carter Zentz scored and Harrison Wertman made one save in the victory.
