American goldfinches still have their winter plumage but soon the dull will give way to their bright yellow. Recently 40-plus families participated in the 2025 Lehigh Gap Area Feeder Watch. Results included 36 goldfinches. Others were: cooper’s hawk, 2; sharp-shinned hawk, 2; mourning dove, 191; red-bellied woodpecker, 30; yellow bellied sapsucker, 1; hairy woodpecker, 26; downy woodpecker, 66; northern flicker, 3; blue jay, 75; American crow; 73; chickadee, 99; tufted titmouse, 99; white-breasted nuthatch, 47; red-breasted nuthatch, 2; brown creeper, 7; Carolina wren, 25; golden crowned kinglet, 3; eastern bluebird – 12; northern mockingbird, 2 and cedar waxwing, 4.
