State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• Two people, including a 4-year-old girl, had possible injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 1:15 p.m. on March 8 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, police said.
Kima C. McCree, 54, and the child, both of Newark, New Jersey, were transported by personnel from the Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.
They were passengers in a 2017 Hyundai Accent, driven by Gregory Dickey, 55, of Wilkes-Barre. He and two other passengers were uninjured.
Dickey was westbound when the vehicle left the road and went into a ditch. It had minor damage.
Dickey was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Nathan D. Brown, 23, of Saylorsburg, had suspected serious injuries after a motorcycle crash at 3:16 a.m. on March 28 on Twin Pine Road, Jackson Township, police said.
He was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.
Police said that Brown was operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson southbound when he hit a deer that had entered the roadway. They said he was thrown and had a serious head injury. He was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency Medical Services corps to a landing zone.
Brown is facing charges of operating a vehicle while his operating privileges are suspended or revoked, police said.
• Ronald Ciechanowski, 68, of Reeders, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 2:34 a.m. on March 29 on Possinger Drive, Jackson Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg.
He was driving a 2005 Toyota RAV4 southbound when it left the road and hit a tree off the south shoulder. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• A 46-year-old Brodheadsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a two-vehicle crash at 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the intersection of Route 115 and Jenna Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
Police listed an 18-year-old man from Effort as a victim.
They did not provide details of the incident, but said a 2019 Honda and a Toyota were involved.
