Local Roundup: Results from April 4
Marian and Pleasant Valley both suffered shutout losses over the weekend.
The Colts fell to Palisades, while the Bears were blanked by Freedom.
Marian-Palisades
Jack Trickel hurled a five-hit shutout and helped his cause with two hits, one an RBI single, to pace Palisades to a 3-0 non-league victory over Marian.
Trickel struck out five and walked two, and his RBI single gave Palisades a 1-0 lead. The Pirates, winners of three straight, sealed the game with a two-run sixth.
Rocco Griguoli had a pair of hits for Marian. Cole Jordan started for the Colts and allowed just three hits and one run while striking out five.

Pleasant Vy.-Freedom
Freedom took control of a tight contest with a five-run fifth-inning and went on to a 7-0 victory over Pleasant Valley.
The Patriots’ Michael Horvath had a two-run single in the fifth, and Colin Andrews added two hits. Andrews stole home in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.
Braydon Green had three hits for Pleasant Valley, which dropped its fourth straight.
