SS. Peter and Paul Church

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day at Saints Peter and Paul Parish by the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr., throughout the year on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7:45 and 10 a.m. Daily Masses are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and First Saturdays at 8 a.m.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available on Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m., and about 30 minutes before Masses on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for personal prayer every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. We particularly need adorers for the last hour. On first Fridays, we also have Adoration and Confessions available from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of formation for disciples of Jesus in the Catholic Church. Our parish’s Saint Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” by appointment in the former convent building on 242 N. 3rd Street. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need and seeks donations of the same. For more information, call Esther at 570-657-6738.

The Knights of Columbus Damien Council 598 meets on the first Tuesday of every month in our parish hall at 7 p.m., followed by the Msgr. Agnello Angelini Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting is on May 6.

Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Wednesday evening in church at 6:30 p.m. Confession is available afterwards.

Our Lenten Fish Fry will take place on April 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the social hall on 307 Coal St. A ticket for the meal includes fried haddock, French fries, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, dessert, and beverage. Tickets available in church after weekend Masses at the rectory by calling 610-377-3690.

Parishioner and author Sarah Robsdottir will be among the speakers at the St. Monica Ministry Retreat taking place from April 25-27 at the Peace Retreat House in Weatherly. Options are available for staying the whole weekend or coming only on Saturday. Visit celestebehe.com/stmonicaministry for details about this diocesan ministry of intercession for those who no longer practice their Catholic faith.

This year’s Backyard Bash will take place on June 27 and 28. In anticipation of the event, we will hold a raffle to earn start-up money. Tickets are available after weekend Masses or at the Rectory.
