Andreas VFW
The Andreas VFW will meet at 7 p.m. April 9 at the West Penn Annex. Nomination and election of officers will take place.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim Leskowich will share the preparation of our hearts for Easter with a message about oil at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown. Music to fill hearts with joy will be shared. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. All are welcome.
There will be no Wednesday evening prayer group through the weeks of Lent as Lenten services are offered by the New Ringgold Ministerium. At 7:15 p.m. April 9, there will be a people’s choice hymn sing before the 7:30 p.m. service at Friedens Lutheran Church in New Ringgold. All are invited to the community service.
St. Peter’s West Penn
The 9 a.m. Sunday service at St. Peter’s in West Penn includes Communion. Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., the Confirmation class meets at 10:30 a.m. Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m. Filling orders are due Sunday.
The prayer group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Retirees meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Lenten services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dinkey Memorial Church.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Communion will be included during the service. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on March 27 with 28 members present.
President Jean Machamer opened the meeting. The invocation, “I Said a Prayer for You,” was read by one member.
The secretary and treasurer’s report stand as read. The group thanked all members who helped make food and brought chips in along with the member who served it.
The group chanced off an Easter wreath and a basket, which was won by a member.
Bingo and cards were played. The meeting closed by two members.
The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.
