Sew What Quilt Guild to learn English paper piecing Friday

The next meeting of the Sew What Quilt Guild is Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the upstairs gallery of the Palmerton Area Library located at 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Pat Piasecki and Irene Oehmke will be teaching English paper piecing.

Members will need to bring the following items to the meeting:

Scissors; needle (the thinner the better); thread (50 weight or thinner if you have it); fabric clips (only one or two); one 5” square of fabric (for the center); and one 10” square of fabric or a 3” strip. You will need more if you are fussy cutting.

Piasecki will supply the papers needed. Both teachers will have some supplies to share.

During last month’s meeting, it was announced that the annual Quilt Lovers Bingo will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Aquashicola Fire Company.

In addition, Piasecki and Chris Stehle gave an excellent presentation on the Quilts of Valor program.

Don’t forget Show ‘N Tell if you have something to show the group.
