April 1, 1971 — Larry Stout wins a pair of events while Kevin Seltzer captures one and ties for first in another as Lehighton registers a 68-50 Lehigh Valley League track and field victory over Emmaus. Stout bests the field in both the 100- and 220-yard sprints, posting times of 10.8 and 24.8. Seltzer turns in a winning distance of 40-11 1/2 in the triple jump and matches Dave Long with a mark of 5-8 in the high jump. Others to claim first-place finishes for the Indians include Denny Koch (mile), Rich Hopstock (shot put), Herb Gasker (discuss) and Ronnie Semmel (pole vault).
