State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Earl T. Weller, 64, of New Ringgold, was uninjured when a car he was driving struck a deer that entered its path at 4:30 a.m. March 18.

Police said he was westbound in a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage on Summer Valley Road, East Brunswick Township, when the deer entered the road from the right side.

• Robert T. Randall, 79, of Herndon, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:44 p.m. March 27 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.

Police said he was driving a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 northbound when a passing tractor-trailer in the right lane began to veer into his lane. Randall steered to the left to avoid a collision and his vehicle left the road and hit a guide rail, police said.

• Brent J. Miklesavage, 56, of Middleport, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 8:27 p.m. March 27 on Union Street in Middleport.

Police said he had minor injuries after the crash and was transported by personnel from Schuylkill EMS to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.

Miklesavage was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla northbound when it traveled into the southbound lane, went onto the shoulder of the road and hit a large tree, police said.

The car was towed from the scene.

They said Miklesavage showed signs of impairment at the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:17 a.m. March 28 on the Exit 138 on-ramp to Interstate 81 northbound in Kline Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Aaron N. Dorneman, 27, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2018 Ford Escape that struck the rear of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee operated by Frank Sanders, 57, of Coaldale, which was coming to a stop due to traffic.

Police said the Escape was towed from the scene.

Dorneman was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Donald B. Lunger Jr., 41, of Frackville, was uninjured in a hit-and-run crash at 10:47 a.m. March 27 on Skyline Drive in Ryan Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 GMC Sierra southbound when a 2008 Hyundai Elantra attempted to pass him, at which time the Elantra hit the driver side door and front fender. Police said the Elantra never stopped.

Lunger was able to drive the Sierra from the scene, police said.
